Useless for potted orchids March 15, 2010 D. Hill Will not sense moisture in potted orchids, due to the type of potting materials. Appears to only work in compacted dirt.
Piece of junk January 13, 2010 Golden Girl (WI & FL) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Tried it immediately after receiving and it did not work. Did not budge above dry even when in really damp soil.
Returned it and ordered another one.
Handy Tool January 7, 2010 S. A. Hacker (Merrill, WI) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a handy tool that means houseplants will never die from over watering again! I always have several around the house and yard. They also make great gifts for avid gardeners.

not worth it December 7, 2009 david (boston) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
It works good for like the first 2 weeks. After then the meter will start to give false monitors. i know this is a great thing for newbies, but before you waste your money on this like i did. the best thing to do to know if your plants need to be water is. 1. pick up the pot to see if its easy to hold [light = dry] - [heavy = wet] another method i learned besides that one is, digging a hole w/ your finger to see if its dry or moist. i use both of these methods instead of that worthless meter.
