Great sound ,great price. It's amazing the sound qualitiy thes little speakers put out. A clear full sound with good bass. love it.the only small drawback is the AC adaptor,it seems that you could misplace it easy. but if you have makita cordless tools you are set. The 18 volt compact lithiumion battery lasted me a 8 hour day and was still running, the 18 volt XLT batteries are supposed to last 16 hours , I think they will.

i did not like the sound quality of speakers no bass or treble settings .the plug is like one you used on your cell phones ten years ago .keep looking and if you do decide make sure they have a return policy like amazon .

I don't have a mp3 player so have not tried it with that. pretty good reception long life on a battery. would like it if you could charge batteries as well, but the lithium batteries require a pretty sophisticated charger so i imagine the price would be much higher. plenty loud a little bassy. overall i like will be great for camping trips too

Great radios -- we have a household moving company and we bought one for each truck. The guys love 'em... the only design flaw is one that others have noted: you can't connect an MP3 player with an AUX cable to the rear port when you're using a battery to power the radio, which for us is all the time. No big deal, since there's a front port, but it means that we can't use one of the radio's slickest design features: an enclosed compartment at the rear to protect your expensive and fragile MP3 player on the job site. Overall, though, very, very happy with them.

While this radio does not charge batteries or have an internal power adaptor (the external one will be cheaper to replace if it goes bad anyway), it is very sturdy (although a bit heavy, which I do not mind) compact, easy to handle and move - with nice sound (on the bass side). One design flaw is the placement of the inside AUX jack in the way of a slide-in battery. The controls are simple, and for those of us with Makita cordless tools, this is a no-brainer. I am very picky -- and am also happy with this choice. More bells and whistles (i.e., bass/treble controls, battery charger, etc.) would just add to the cost -- more than what is needed for a job site radio. Once again, I was pleased with Amazon's prices and prompt service.
