Wonderful March 12, 2010 M. Carico (Las Vegas NV) Love this shower head. Makes showering like a spa. Easy to use, and a great addition to the shower.
Poor hose, otherwise good value March 5, 2010 Michael Tree (DECATUR, GA United States) I bought this for the diverter portion only, which was worth the price, if you have been shopping these things, the brass diverters are around $35 and don't have a hook for the hand shower. I have a new shower and spent over $100 on a famous brand hand shower, hose and diverter. All plastic except the diverter and just as cheaply constructed as the low priced ones. What was really frustrating is the plastic wall mount for the hand shower with the more expensive one. I wasn't willing to commit to drilling holes in the new shower to mount such a cheap thing, which might or might not last. The features of this one were just what I wanted to avoid drilling the holes. Maybe someday I can afford a really expensive one. Until then, this has served me well. Being able to use both shower heads at once is also a plus.
Like the title states though, the hose is the weak link here. It is quite stiff and seems to be solid plastic. The rest of the unit is quite up to snuff, especially for the price. I used the hose from the more expensive kit I bought, which has plastic ends, but is stainless steel covered and more flexible and heavier, so it will hang more normally.
One thing I noticed about the leaking. If you use the rubber washer where the diverter mounts to the shower arm, it will likely leak. Both diverters I installed did this until I removed the rubber washer and used the supplied teflon tape only on the shower arm. The nut that mounts to the shower arm is brass, and must be tightened with a wrench or pliers, so you need to protect it with something so it doesn't get scratched.
A good twist seals the other plastic connections, I recommend one of those rubber jar openers to get a grip on it, or any good size piece of rubber works well.
Nice Product and Easy Installation February 23, 2010 Teresa Gryp (Hesperia, CA) I just ordered this shower head and put it in my guest bathroom. Being a single mother, I found it was not only easy to install, but it came with everything needed and took me approx 15-20 min. Everyone who has used it, loves it. It has four different water spray modes on both the handheld and the stationary heads. The hose is plenty long enough. It also helped increase the water pressure as some other review had mentioned. I only gave it four stars because it seems to be made out of chrome painted plastic so Im not sure how long it's going to last. Even if I get a couple years out of it, I will have gotten my moneys worth. I think it's every bit worth the price.
We are very satisfied with this unit. February 21, 2010 J. Lesley (Midsouth, United States) After trying two other shower spray units (one costing 3 times more than this one and one costing double) I didn't really hold out much hope that this would be what we were looking for. Am I ever glad to say that I was wrong. The problem we were having was that our house was built back in 1975, not the time of BIG bathrooms. Some years back our renovation included completely removing the tub in this bathroom and having that space be shower only. The two spray heads we tried before were evidently intended for room-size shower stalls because with one the water went completely over my head, with the other it hit me full in the face. With no way to adjust them enough to have the water spraying "down" instead of "out" unless the shower head was held continually.
This unit by Peerless is working for us very well. With the two separate spray heads the combinations make it very easy to fit our application. A downward spray (to help with the confined space), a hand held unit (which I will use to help with shower clean-up, but my darlin' uses for massage) or use of both spray heads at the same time for maximum water coverage for two people who are very different heights. Both spray heads have all four settings (forceful full, soft full, massage or full spray with massage) so each person can easily design the type of shower that suits them best.
My husband had no difficulty installing the unit and by letting the hand sprayer hang down lose for about 12 hours the kink in it came right out. In a perfect world it would be nice for the hose to be about one foot longer on the hand held spray head. We expect to be using this unit for many years to come and highly recommend it. For this low price, there is not anything we've tried that even comes close to working this well.
Great Buy February 14, 2010 Kenny Smith so far this device is working perfectly for me so i will give it a 10/10 keep up the good work..
