Finaly had to replace my Zoeller M53-D pump after 12+ years of service, actually didn't realy replace it just bought another one, I will put a new switch in the old and keep as a spare. We have a very high water table here and the pump runs every 2-3 minutes most of the year. You won't find a much better pump out there that can run like this for 12+ years and only need a $20 switch. Oil filled for long life, quiet and reliable. I'll never run anything other than Zoeller.

I did a lot of research before I bought the Zoeller M53. This had the best reviews of all the pumps I looked at. So far it has been pumping the water from my underground sump with no problem. It pumps the water both quickly and quitely and is built solid.

Zoeller's slogan is "Your Peace of Mind is Our Top Priority", which feels like a slap in my face after my recent experience with my Zoeller mighty-mate pump.
Recently, my family and I were about to head to the airport to fly Europe when I noticed a burning smell from my basement. They day before, everything had been fine. I followed the smell and found this Zoeller sump pump, which is a few years old, running permanently. It was too hot to touch and water was boiling on it and evaporating from the pump housing, filling the basement with smoke. The switch on top of the pump had broken (the float was working freely) and the pump did not turn off anymore! With only a few hours until departure, we had to run and buy a new pump and install it within 2 hours.
If we had left for Europe without noticing the pumps failure, the house might have burned down or, after the pump burned out, the basement would have flooded. So much for "Your Peace of Mind is Our Top Priority".....
UPDATE: I e-mailed Zoeller pumps about this the same day I posted this review, but received no answer. I guess its not part of their service to respond to their customers.

I installed this powerhouse and was pleasantly surprised. It removes water from the sump quickly, and doesn't need to run as long as my old pump. Plumbing Planet is a great seller. They offered customer assistance if needed, and the shipping was super fast. I would gladly use them again.
