Amazon.com Product Review The WORX GT is the perfect tool to neatly manicure your yard after you mow. It even won the prestigious Editor’s Choice award from Popular Mechanics Magazine at the 2006 Lawn and Garden Show. The lightweight WORX 18-volt battery-powered string trimmer weighs less than a gallon of milk and is the only trimmer on the market which converts from a standard grass trimmer to a true walk-behind edger – 2 tools in 1. The integrated Edger wheel allows you to quickly and easily roll the trimmer along your patio or driveway for adding that perfectly edged look to your yard or garden. And forget the hassle of pull starters - the WORX GT starts with the single push of a button. Forget the aggravation of untangling extension cords – the 18-volt battery-powered WORX GT can trim up to a 1/2 acre yard on a single charge. It goes anywhere you need to. And unlike some competitive cordless models, the WORX GT comes with a 1-hour quick charger so you don’t have to wait for hours for the battery to re-charge…you’re back to work in minutes not hours. The unique trimming head of WORX GT pivots up to 90-degrees to reach under decks, under play equipment, under trees and bushes or on slopes and hills. No more bumping to feed line. The auto-feed line system of the WORX GT feeds out line with a simple squeeze and release of the trigger. The fold-away spacer guard also helps to protect flowers, tree trunks, outdoor lighting and other delicate objects from damage by the trimmer line. The WORX GT adjusts in length and handle positions to ensure a more comfortable ergonomic fit and less strain on backs and arms. And unlike long, bulky trimmers, the WORX GT collapses for easy storage in a closet or garage. What's in the Box WORX GT 18-volt cordless string trimmer, 18-volt battery pack and 1-hour fast charger, pre-loaded spool with 16-feet of trimmer line, complete tri-lingual operator’s manual and product demo DVD for quick assembly and clear operation

Beware of Advertising Claims July 30, 2010 joebob The product generally works as they advertise except the batteries are inferior, which pretty much makes the product worthless. I took advantage of "package deal" 2 months ago and received 2 batteries with the shipment. One battery worked once and will not recharge now. The other battery will not last long enough to trim my yard without recharging and I have a small yard. Customer service is a joke. I have never been able to hold long enough to get a live rep and they will not respond to email on my issues with their batteries
Worx false advertising July 28, 2010 Russ Sliker We watched this product on TV and were hooked so bought direct. Buyer beware: Battery last 30 minutes...bull, not if your doing yardwork; try 5-8 minutes; Lightweight...yes, but not quality plastic and actually too light and short and I'm only 5'7"; Trimmer line hangs-up too easily and thus you have to dismantle at least once per use; money-back...not so fast cause you only have 30 days and like most of us with "yardwork" that could be 1 to 4 uses before you find its a piece of crap. We tried to get our money back (stupid us, we bought the "package: trimmer/edger combo, blower and hedge trimmer)just 49 days after receipt and were stonewalled on getting our money back. They kept blamming it on a "bad battery". So just to let you guys know I'm talking with my attorney about a class action lawsuit for false advertising. They sould have given my money back....messing with the wrong person. I have a mid-six figure income but I work hard for my money. The other products need another 2-3 paragraphs....stay tuned cause I'll be posting this "issue" everywhere I can! I only gave one star because it won't let me choose none.
worx 24 volt 2-1 cordless trimmer July 26, 2010 screwedagain Very disappointed battery last 20 minutes if lucky, had to manually pull string out. This might be fine for a very small yard. I like how they say 2 football fields. The best part is how they stick it to you when you return it, $45.00 to return it for me. Thats after a 40 minute wait on the phone to get a return number and, then they tell me it will take 3 days to email they label to me. Please read the reviews before you buy one. The only good thing I could say it was light weight.
Not worth it July 24, 2010 cristalena_kr If you have a small yard with light edging, this product may be okay. We don't have a large yard, but we do have a fence in our backyard. This trimmer finishes a small amount trimming in the front but it doesn't even get 1/3 of the yard done in the back before the battery dies. With the climate where we live, we get weeds that spring up pretty quickly and this trimmer just doesn't have the oomph to get those in one pass. It takes several passes to cut some of the larger weeds.
Basically, this trimmer just doesn't have the battery life or the power to do a good job. Next time, I'm going to spend more money for a more quality product.
Don't buy this!!!!!! July 21, 2010 Rence (Chicago, IL United States) The Worx cordless weed trimmer/edger is not effective in trimming anything much stronger than jonathan grass. It barely makes it's way though fescue, and certainly doesn't make it's way though any weeds on my property. The battery only lasts 20 minutes. The plastic protector fell off five minutes after I tried it.
If you have a small bit of property and are basically cutting grass and trimming grass, this would probably be sufficient for you. It's definitely light weight and easy to start and manage. And frankly, if you have such small property, 20 minutes would probably do it for you. But if you are truly cutting weeds, this is not going to work for you.
The worst part about it is customer service: EXTREMELY LONG WAIT TIMES to do returns. The times I've spent on hold are as follows: day 1 45min+, day 2: 40 min, day 3: 30 min, and after 20 minutes on day 4 I finally got a hold of someone at WORX named "kristin" who processed my return, and told me my refund would reflect on my account 24 hours after they received my return. Not so...
So I called back, and didn't bother waiting past 15 minutes. But I was able to access them via their live chat on their website, where "jonathan" told me that Kristin was mistaken and that refunds took 7-10 days after the return was received. Put me on internet "hold" for a few minutes to research it and said my return would reflect on my account in 3-5 business days.
Not worth it guys! Buy another product!!!
