Scarecrow- keeps the deer away February 3, 2010 Bob Green The Scarecrow is ridiculously expensive for what it is but it works. Our gardens were being ravaged by deer. We have a lot of TLC and $$ invested in perennials and annuals and have tried fox urine, various Deer repellents and nothing really deterred the critters satisfactorily. The Scarecrow scares the you know what out of them and any other critter that meanders near including humans. We use about 6 of them. You have to put on your thinking cap and buy a little extra hose and nozzles but once you are done you can sleep restfully knowing your garden is safe 24/7. We take them out in the fall and put them back in in the spring. Maybe 2 seasons is all they last at least in Indiana. The connection may have to be trenched in (PVC pipe) to avoid lawn mowers and blown out for winter. We are believers in the product.

This bracket is an absolute waste. A $15 dollar waste too! I even tightened it with pliers, not just the hand tightening knob, and still wouldn't even adequately hold the Scarecrow in position. No chance of any real adjustment with this junk design either. Ended up using some electrical PVC brackets with great success, cost about $.40 each.

Works - but could be designed so it's tighter - ScareCrow ends up vibrating and changing position in time.
NOT moveable but quite useable August 15, 2008 MG Tisdale (frederick, md) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love the scarecrow product, recommend it to anyone who gardens and has trouble with deer, cats, neighborhood kids, etc. Its a gentle surprise to unwelcome guests that doubles by watering your plants.
This bracket is priced too high..I paid $18 (with free ship) and while its sturdy, its just a metal bracket that is screwed to the post...you will not be able to move this bracket once installed!! Some reviewer mention moving it but you would need to buy several of these products.
You can attach the scarecrow to this FIXED bracket but removing it and reattaching it is awkward.
This bracket is useful because you can raise up the scarecrow to see over tall plants, which is terrific. But once you purchase it, plan to install and leave it. There are other, much less expensive options...I simply stuck the scarecrow into a huge planter pot on top of my deck step and it dripped water into my plant each time it squirted...cool, eh? You can buy a giant metal clip and attach it to your deck. Creativity will save you a few bucks. However, this matches the scarecrow and is therefore less noticeable. Happy gardening!
Very easy but a little pricey May 30, 2008 Kathi D (Central Coast of California) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought these (and the Scarecrow water-shooter itself) to try to keep wild turkeys out of my back yard. These mounting brackets make it easy to attach the sprinklers to my fence, and having several of them means I can move the sprinklers about as needed. The only downside is they are pretty expensive, given that a galvanized pipe bracket also works (although not as prettily or easily) for a fraction of the price.
