Cheap but doesn't work as intended August 30, 2010 Tom Sabo (Chicago, IL) I bought a pair of these for $9.99. After trying it on my lawn, I realize this is not gonna work.
Although this product appears to be a good design, it has one fundamental problem.
Since it does not remove soil from the turf, it creates nothing but compacted tiny holes in the ground. Before you even see any benefit, a good rain will cause the soil to expand and close up these tiny holes.
I will try EZ CORE found on ebay next time.
Just about OK August 19, 2010 seeram All the previous reviews are correct. The straps are too long. But you do not have to yank it so hard that it would break. One can find a way to keep them on without much difficulty. I tested a small portion of my yard and it has given good results. The real test will come this fall when I try the whole yard.
Good Shoes... August 15, 2010 Dmitry Good shoes. I used them to do an epoxy coating in my garage. Left no marks ...
Green Giant Spiked Aerator Shoes August 11, 2010 Guy Keith I was hesitant to order these spike shoes because of some of the negative responses I have read. But, the set I got had metal buckles on them, so I had no problems with anything breaking. You need to make sure to put the straps through the buckles several times to make sure they don't come loose. For some reason I had to tighten the right shoe several times while the left side never came loose. Overall, the spikes worked well. Make sure to water whatever area you are going to do prior to using them. It will help them sink in better. Also, be ready for a good leg workout. Overall, I am satisfied with these and would recommend them. The grass is coming back where I aerated it. I fertilized and watered the areas really well (keep watering for several days).
Great for what they are August 10, 2010 wgeoff I am not sure why the reviews are so horrible. These are cheap, plastic shoes, with spikes on the bottom. Give the yard a good watering, or wait till it rains. The straps arent great, but after a few tries you will get then to fit perfectly. Planted grass and clover with these, and they worked great.
